E3 2021 is still blazing onward, and Capcom is next to fill our E3 2021 Phenixx Gaming coverage. Will we see new titles? Let’s see what Capcom has cooked up for us this year.
The showcase began with a Resident Evil: Village segment where the Producer of the game, Tsuyoshi Kanda, gave a message to the fans. He reiterated that people who bought Village will get free access to the multiplayer RE:Verse game. He also announced that RE:Verse will go live next month across all of the platforms it supports, which includes PC, Xbox consoles, and PlayStation 4.

There was also an announcement for additional Resident Evil: Village DLC, though they stated that more information would be coming later. After that they moved into a Monster Hunter segment, specifically starting with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. They began with an extended trailer for Wings of Ruin, which showed off a little gameplay.
They also announced free updates, including one coming on July 15th providing a free monster called a Palamute. A Trial version of the game will release on June 25th, and you can transfer your save data to the full game once you purchase it. They also showed off the deluxe edition and the amiibo that are coming for the game, though they have already been shown off elsewhere. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will release on July 9th.
Monster Hunter Rise was next on the agenda, with collaborations coming between it and Monster Hunter Stories 2. They also announced the version 3.1 update for Monster Hunter: Rise, which will offer a new free event quest and rewards. There were also a few paid DLC announcements for characters and content as well. Version 3.1 will be available on June 24th.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles took some time in the spotlight after the Monster Hunter segment. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles contains two Ace Attorney games never before released outside of Japan. They showcased a brand new trailer, which details some of the story in each of the games.
They also took the time to show off a bit of gameplay, including two mechanics new to the franchise. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles will release on July 27th on PS4, Switch, and PC.
Sadly, that was all of the new announcements for Capcom. The rest of the show detailed E-Sports information about the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 and the Street Fighter League. Personally, I think this should have been its own thing and not a part of an E3 showcase, but that’s just my take. I wasn’t super impressed by this showcase, but I wasn’t disappointed entirely either. They could have done better though.
