Simmers have been asking for farming, and oddly enough, livestock since the Sims 2 days. While they did give them horses in Sims 3 and chickens via the Sims 3 store, the request really wasn’t addressed by EA or Maxis. Until now, that is. It looks like simmers are finally getting their wish. Yesterday, The Sims team dropped a reveal trailer and description for the upcoming EP Cottage Living. There are cows.
The description states: “Delight in the quaint charm of The Sims™ 4 Cottage Living Expansion Pack* with animal friends, garden-to-table meals, and a close-knit community. At home, cook with the family using the freshest ingredients. Explore the forest to befriend woodland creatures or forage for food, or head to town to meet the locals. Whether Sims are hugging a cow, making friends (or enemies) with their chickens, or growing the biggest vegetables around, the countryside is abundant with new experiences and ways to connect with the world around them.”
Key Features
- Raise or Befriend Animals
Cows provide fresh (flavored!) milk while chickens lay eggs in the coop. In the forest, look out for wild rabbits, foxes, and birds. Earn their trust for occasional gifts and help in the garden.
- Live Off the Land
Lot Challenges require fresh ingredients for each meal. Grow produce yourself, visit the village market, or forage in the wild to get them. Enter any oversize crops in the Finchwick Fair competition!
- Embrace Village Life
Henford-on-Bagley is a cozy place where everyone knows everyone. Head down to the pub with your cross-stitching and picnic basket to meet locals and learn about the town’s lore.
Also revealed was the Gnome on the Go Digital Content which includes a gnome statue, bicycle, and lighted tree, and will be available until September 2nd.
Is Cottage Living going to meet simmers expectations? Will these long-awaited features be a letdown? I guess we’ll find out when this EP drops on Origin, Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on July 22nd, 2021.
