Tell Me Why is Free This Month

Happy Pride Month Y’all! It is a tradition here at Phenixx Gaming that despite June also being the gamer’s Christmas (E3 month), we also celebrate Pride Month properly. Now today we’re starting it off with a bit of news that will please a lot of you. The full experience of Tell Me Why is available for free on PC and Xbox for the entire month of June.

Tell Me Why tells the story of twins Alyson and Tyler, who reunite after several years to sell their childhood home. In the process, they are forced to come face-to-face with their traumatic past. The game plays out as both a supernatural mystery and a character-driven homecoming drama. As with other games from DONTNOD (such as Life is Strange), it handles sensitive topics with grace and care.

Specifically, this announcement pertains to Pride Month, due to the fact that Tyler (and his voice actor) is a trans man, who has transitioned in the time away from his sister. Portraying transgender characters respectfully is rare but having a transgender voice actor play one is even rarer. For that reason alone, I think Tell Me Why is worth your time, but it’s free too, so what are you waiting for anyway?

I should reiterate that Tell Me Why is only free on PC and Xbox consoles, either by the Microsoft Store, Steam, or on Xbox Consoles. For a while now, Tell Me Why’s first chapter has been free, but now the entire experience is available for people to play. This is one that I haven’t gotten a chance to try yet, so I’m going to be picking it up immediately.

This is also something great to tide you over until the release of Life Is Strange: True Colors, which looks like it is going to be a stunning experience. As a Pride Month starter, I think this is a great offer. I hope more developers and storefronts do things like this. Maybe Epic Games will have a few solid Pride Month offerings this month.
