To quote Whitesnake, “Here I go again on my own.” Another month of Prime Gaming and another rather lackluster set of announcements that don’t excite the same way some previous reveals have. However, just like every month, there is a lot of in-game loot to slog through like we’re clearing out a silo filled with pig manure.
Of course, Valorant has a new spray available until the 28th of June. The final Smite skin drop is available now until the 1st of July, and the 13th and 14th of a total of 36 League of Legends mystery skin shards are available until January of 2022. The latter often works in batches of three, and the third of this batch is available from the 1st of June. The latest Warframe bundle, Loki Verv, is available right now, though there is a note of possible login issues with the Switch version. Those issues will delay the content until the 7th. You also have until the 25th of June to pick up the final Fall Guys loot that is currently available.
Players of Paladins have until the 30th of June to pick up the Lex-o suit Lex skin, while Dauntless players have until the 18th to pick up the E-blade Sword bundle. Fans of World of Warships can pick up the latest container pick, available until the 17th, and World of Warships: Legends players have until the 30th of June to pick up the “Five pieces of eight” bundle. While players of Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online can still pick up what has been available for the last few months.
Ok, the first game available through the weekly releases we’ve stopped covering is Faraway: Director’s Cut. Like most games that claim to be inspired by Myst, there is a sense just a lot of rather simple puzzles. In fact, it reminds me more of Jonathan Blow’s The Witness than it does Myst itself. A lot of people have noted game-breaking bugs, though it just released in this past March. People also have been criticizing the aforementioned likeness to The Witness. It is a strange addition but not one exciting me personally. Though if that is your type of thing, you have until the 4th of June to pick it up.
Let’s clear out some more of the mobile loot: Players of Risk: Global Domination have until the 10th to pick up the final loot drop. The first of a total 52 drops for Magic Tiles 3 (everyone can music!) is available, and one would assume this is a weekly drop from here on out. In bi-weekly news, the 13th through 16th drops of MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2021 will be available until the 21st of July, with the final drop starting on the 7th of July. Similarly, players of Last Day on Earth: Survival have a few drops throughout the month, but they end towards the end of July.
Players of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang can pick up the 2nd drop of a total 25, and this one ends on the 8th. A similar story to MLB Tap Sport and Last Day on Earth occurs with Darkness Rises, as you can once again dress like over-designed goths from a JRPG through mid-July on Prime. Happily, the final drops for Helix Jump and Cube Surfer end on the 10th and 3rd of June respectively, with Aquapark.io ending on the day of our publishing. In a new bi-weekly set of drops for Word Farm Adventure, you can pick up the first of which is available until the 4th of June. The final drops for Epic Seven are available in the next few days, ending completely on the 16th of June.
If you are old enough you’ll remember a time before Rogue-like was even a thing, but here we are with everything have a Rogue-like inspired version. Bombslinger is a wild-west take on Bomberman crossed over with Rogue-likes in the usual indie mold. That’s not to say it is bad, but I’m not excited by its overall aesthetic, which is a theme of this entire month. For those of you who climb the pole of Rogue-likes like Jennifer Lopez in that one film, you have until the 11th of June.
Onto sports/EA’s games now. Earlier this month it was the world’s most boring 259 card pick up, as the NFL did its draft. Thus you can pick up the Madden NFL 21 draft pack. The replacement for it arrives on the 8th of June. Players of FIFA 21 can also get their 5th Prime Gaming pack, offering the same tripe as always, available until the 25th of June. Though, if you are here as the article was published the 4th pack may still be available for a couple of hours. For players of EA’s UFC 4 can pick up the second last drop, which for men looks like a purple onesie that he’s pooed in, and for women, it is just typical shorts and sports bra, while both have a pair of welder’s gloves.
Onto EA’s most popular online game ever, Rocket Arena. No, I had to, it was too funny. Though, it’s the final drop of season 2, with the Topaz Mysteen Outfit available until the 10th of June. Joking aside, players of Apex Legends can pick up the Punk Rocket skin for Valkyrie, which looks like someone’s thrown paint all over her. Valkyrie’s skin is available until the 21st of June, though there may be some notable delays. Players of World of Tanks have until the 17th of June to pick up the Rock Out bundle, with all the usual amenities available.
An Action Rogue-like RPG that is pixel-based and claims it is a Souls-like too, it must be an indie game released in the last 10 years. Behemutt’s Mana Spark is the third game of the weekly game announcements, and once again I’m left feeling nothing for it. Even describing itself as a Souls-like doesn’t make my heart grow two sizes weeks before my Christmas. Again, I’m left saying it isn’t bad, but it isn’t making me saying “I need to pick that up immediately.” Though, for those who are excited by this description, you have until the 18th of June to pick up Mana Spark.
Once again players of Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege have until the 17th to pick up the latest drop of Renown Boosters. Those still playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have until the 16th of August to pick up the Druidic Settlement bundle, with five of those one-hour XP boosters too. Players of Spellbreak can pick up the Styling Sentry outfit until the 18th of June, while those playing Legends of Runeterra can once again pick up an Epic Wildcard before June the 10th. The latest drop for the bi-weekly prime bundles for AxE: Alliance Vs Empire, is available until the 9th of June.
In a new set of 17 drops, players of RuneScape can currently get 7-days of membership with their Prime subscription, which is available until the 22nd of June. Those playing Sea of Thieves still can pick up the Escapades Emote pack, available until the 7th of June. The Ruby Slashtail wheel pack offer ends on the 1st of June. Those not angry that Bungie enabled Destiny 2‘s crossplay and swore off playing it ever again can pick up the Vigilance Wing Exotic bundle, which is available until the 16th of June. This month will see the final few of the currently available drops for Maplestory M, with the latest drop changing on the 2nd of June.
I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn’t April 1st for this one, I thought I was on drugs or something seeing this was a thing. What if Mount Your Friends tried to be a frogger meme, that’s probably the best explanation of Frog Climbers. It is a game that might be fun if you have friends who are as dull as you for finding that so enjoyable, but it is utterly boring to play on your own because, well, that’s the point. Stupid co-op made for just that and that alone, which unsurprisingly, I’m not personally interested in. Available until the 25th, you have some time to pick up Frog Climbers.
Finally, players of Rogue Company can pick up the Primordial violet weapon wrap, which is available until the 4th of June. There are two separate bundles for Black Desert Online players. Both contain the same thing, but one is for PC and the other for consoles. You can pick up the 15-day booster until the 9th of June. In the first of several bundles, players of Ludo King on mobile can pick up the pirate theme and 7-days voice chat until June the 1st. What next, 7-days of sound effects options? The final of the in-game loot for June, players of V4 can pick up the latest chests and packages for the game, available until the 10th of June.
First up for this month’s five games, it is the Batman Telltale series, the one that was the tipping point on the public perception of Telltale in general. Not held in as high regard as, say, Telltale’s The Walking Dead season 1, it was marred with the formula being relied on in more ways than one. Much like having Uncle Ben spill his rice in Spider-Man every time, baby Bruce has to walk Green Day’s lonely road up an alleyway. It isn’t bad, but once again I don’t think anyone is jumping at this offer with open arms. Much like the rest of these, it will be available until the 1st of July.
I believe kids would describe this next one as “gay AF,” and they’d be right. It is a short gay adventure game about two men named Alex and Jake. If you are a fan of the RPGMaker look of games, Newfound Courage is going to light fires in your underpants. However, if you are not one for clicking through dialogue endlessly, it might not be for you… or more specifically, me.
Next up is Lost in Harmony: The Musical Odyssey, which I could have sworn Mike spoke about at some point, but I can’t find the article. As a casual indie rhythm game, it just something that artistically looks nice, but is not very interesting. As I said several hundred paragraphs ago: “I’m not excited by its overall aesthetic, a theme of this entire month.”
BFF or Die, is a kid-friendly party game that is just a bit meh. Similar to a previous game on Prime, Move or Die, I’ve played it on Steam and really did not like it one bit. Something about it just lacked a bit of something to me, never really making it enjoyable as an experience.
While we’re on what annoys me and seemingly only me, games that use that vertical phone ratio instead of 16×9, like the civilized among us. The same goes for everyone that uploads videos to the likes of YouTube. If you are uploading in vertical, I hope you drop your phone on your own turd. Anyway, Spitkiss is a platformer with beings that look like they fell on the floor of the Rick and Morty editing suite. Colorful and interesting looking, despite its ratio flaws, it is the only interesting release of this entire month that’s new to Prime.
The final game of the month is a repeat of something we’ve seen in the last year or so. Mugsters, a physics-based action puzzler where you end up blowing up little red men in a world full of explosions. Is this a Just Cause game or something? No, because it has some actual level design and direction that it gives you.
