It occurred to me a few nights ago that I’ve covered every prominent Steam sale in some fashion since Phenixx Gaming was founded. However, I’ve not written about a single Humble Store sale despite our status as a Humble Partner. That injustice ends today, my friends. The Humble Store’s Spring Sale has been live for quite some time now, and will remain so until May 14th, 2021 at 10am Pacific time.

Because I didn’t have the idea to cover this sale until so close to its expiration, I don’t have the time to write up one of my usual several-page-long lists of recommendations like I do for most large Steam sales. However, I’ll still fire off a few suggestions in terms of games and DLC that I think you should consider grabbing before the Humble Spring Sale ends. What’s more, since this isn’t a Steam sale, I’m not bound by my own traditional, self-imposed rule against recycling games I’ve already suggested.

That means I get to ramble about Civilization VI yet again! Let’s get that out of the way first. Before I get too deep into the reduced prices on games of which I wish to make you aware, I should mention that all the discount percentages I’ll mention throughout this article are factoring in the additional discounts I receive for maintaining an active Humble Choice subscription. I suggest bearing that in mind as we go forward. The prices I mention may not be the exact same for you if you’re not a Choice subscriber.

Right, on with the recommendations! As I strongly alluded to just a moment ago, I’m starting things off with Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. Sadly, the Platinum Edition isn’t discounted and is, therefore, still well over $100 USD. As such, I can recommend neither the Platinum Edition nor the Digital Deluxe Edition, which is still well over $70. What I can suggest, though, is that you grab the base game and both of its expansions (Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm). This entire trio is discounted to a total of $30.95.

Admittedly, buying the base game and its expansions won’t get you every last drop of what the game has to offer. You’ll need all the other DLC and the season pass for that. However, if you’ve ever wanted to dip your toe into Civilization VI or the Civilization franchise as a whole, now is a great time to do so in light of this sale. The expansions will still give you a veritable ton of content to explore so that you can see what suits you best while you build a civilization that will stand the test of time.

Next up, we’ve got Two Point Hospital, a fantastic hospital construction and management title which proudly serves as a spiritual successor to 1997’s Theme Hospital. If you’ve ever wanted to treat cases of lightheaded patients whose craniums have become literal light bulbs, or perhaps a psychiatric condition which makes its sufferers dress and act exactly like Freddie Mercury, this is most assuredly the game for you. The base game will cost you $10.11, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that all six of the game’s DLC packs are also discounted if any of them catch your eye.

Finally, if you’re in the market for a game in which you might find yourself quite immersed, why not try Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2? Rockstar’s epic cowboy simulator has been deemed several outlets’ Game of the Year three years running; though this was largely due to loopholes concerning the game releasing on multiple storefronts in different years. Even despite those loopholes, the game still offers several metric tons of content, especially if you enjoyed the original Red Dead Redemption during its heyday. The base game will cost you $37.18, with the Ultimate Edition clocking in at $55.48.

There you have it for now, folks! I sorely wish I had the time to write up a fuller list of my personal game recommendations, but hey, at least now I can save the majority of them for this year’s Steam Summer Sale. As you gleaned from this article’s title, 2021’s Humble Spring Sale will only be live for two more days as of this piece’s publication. Due to that, if you’ve got your eye on any games discounted on the Humble Store, I’d suggest getting them while they’re hot!
