Have you ever wanted to play as a dog flying a spaceship? Does playing a group of dogs combating an evil corporation named Woofer appeal to you? If so, then you might want to check Steam today for Astrodogs, a new release by Dynamic Media Triad.

The Mexico City based developer has created Astrodogs, and in addition to the Steam release today, it will be releasing on Nintendo Switch this summer. It currently boasts 10 handcrafted levels, cool bosses, cute characters, an engaging story, and a “Transcending Soundtrack.”

It looks very reminiscent of games like Star Fox 64 and other shooters of the genre. There are a variety of ships, weapons, and mechanics at play, including a slow-motion mechanic. Here is the full list of features according to the press release:

  • Choose between 4 different Special Weapons to deal with enemy groups!
  • Use your Instinct to slow down time and aim perfectly!
  • Roll like a barrel to deflect bullets back to your enemies!
  • An immersive and exciting original soundtrack to get you ready for action!
  • Explore beautiful, varied environments as you travel through the Galaxy!

  • Discover the secrets behind Woofer’s invasion!
  • Unlock colors and skins for your ship by playing the game!
  • Hand-drawn characters oozing personality and dogginess.
  • An evil cast of villains with unique mechs and battleships waiting to fight you!
  • The Best Vibes

Honestly, Astrodogs looks colorful and absolutely adorable. I’m excited to see how the game is received on PC, since the industry has been lacking games like Star Fox for a while. Not only that, who doesn’t love games with a ton of cute dogs in them? Astrodogs is reported to be on Steam for the price of $12.99 or your regional equivalent.
