It’s a funny headline, but it’s actually a surprise to Sony and Sucker Punch. Nearly half of the people who have played Ghosts of Tsushima have completed the game. The statistic might seem low, but most people don’t finish the games they play for one reason or another. The high completion rate is a sign that the world offered in the game is more than compelling enough to stick around for the end. How does it rank among other top Sony games?
The normal rate of completion isn’t really close to 50%. The top-ranking game in terms of completion is Marvel’s Spider-Man at 50.8%. From there, you can see that the numbers drop dramatically:
- Assassin’s Creed Origins – 38.2%
- Far Cry 5 – 36.7%
- Days Gone – 34.7%
- Horizon Zero Dawn – 34.1%
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – 30%
- The Witcher 3 – 29.8%
- Death Stranding – 28.6%
- Red Dead Redemption II – 28.2%
- Watch Dogs 2 – 24.9%
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – 19.8%
The other game that boasts a high completion rate among Sony titles is The Last of Us: Part II. The three games with the highest completion rates have some things in common. Firstly, they’re all open-world games. Secondly, they all feature stories celebrated by fans and critics alike. If you’re Sony, then you’re probably aware of this already, but open-world narratives do very well for PlayStation consoles and their owners.
What’s the last game you completed to the very end? It’s hard sometimes to finish a game in its entirety. There are plenty of games that I own that I love but never finish. There’s countless explanations for this phenomenon, but the fact of the matter is that some games give you what you’re looking for without needing to get 100% of the in-game items, trophies, etc. Let us know the last game you finished completely in the comments!
