For years now, I’ve seen that one image of this panda-cat thing with the sword and eye-patch, and every time I think, “is that out yet?” No, it is never out, even though it has been in development since 2015 by former Avalanche Studio developers. I tell a lie, as it is now expected to launch this May, according to a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account.

As you can see, a simple image noting the new release date for the action-RPG is to be May 25th this year. First revealed back in 2017, some expected the game to release in 2019. That didn’t pan out as anyone expected. As PC Gamer notes, they were told the delay came as a result of the game’s “sheer magnitude, size[,] and length.”

When talking with IGN in 2017, developer Experiment 101 noted the map would be “16 square kilometers, or approx. 6 square miles,” with underworld sections too. It seems it could be another one of these RPGs with a lot of talk and excitement, much like Cyberpunk 2077 was prior to launch. We’ll just have to wait until the 25th of May to find out if the comparison is valid.

Though it wouldn’t be the gaming industry if it wasn’t for the multiple editions available to pre-order and spend money on before then. For example, the Atomic Collector’s Edition features: A detailed diorama, the game (you’d hope for the price), the steelbook case, a T-shirt, an oversized mousemat, Artwork on A1 sized, the game’s soundtrack, and the premium box. How much, I am sure you are asking? A low, low price of $399.99.

Yes, while the “normal” Collector’s Edition comes with the fabric artwork, soundtrack, the game, a smaller premium box, and the panda-cat thing in a figure form, it is “only” $109.99 for PC and $119.99 for consoles. Or you can be like a normal human and buy the game alone for $59.99. Do that one so I can secure the atomic edition (I won’t, I am joking).

Oddly enough, that’s all THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 had to share about the game via the press release. However, they did say we’ll find out more information in the coming weeks and months before launch. Biomutant, or as I’ve been calling it “Monster Hunter: Furry Edition,” will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 25th, 2020 barring no further delays. So far, there is no word on the possible PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases or upgrades.
