Five years ago, Shadebob Games released Infinitrap, a hardcore top-down platformer. Two years ago, they announced that a re-release/remastered version called Infinitrap: Rehamstered was coming to Early Access. Now after two years of Early Access, people can play a demo of the game without having to purchase the Early Access version.

Personally, I feel like the devs did this backward. Wouldn’t you want to make a demo first before putting a game in Early Access on Steam? Regardless, you can now play a demo of the game for free, and dig into the dangerous experience yourself. Here is what the press release had to say about this game:

Infinitrap: Rehamstered is a reboot of our original Infinitrap game released 5 years ago. Infinitrap: Rehamstered  is a fast-paced top-down platformer game for hardcore players. The game will start off with 30 levels and will be available on Windows, OSX and Linux (Steam and DRM-free).

Every level starts with the player character standing on the start tile. The start tile is perfectly safe– No, trust me. It’s safe. Once you leave the start tile, you have a limited time to reach the treasure before the level crushes you. To complicate things, each level will include a number of obstacles to waste your time and possibly kill you. You can make your own levels and share them with other players!

If you like what you see over on the Infinitrap: Rehamstered Steam page, you can purchase it now for $11.99 on Steam or buy it through the official website at a higher price point, if you want to support the development of the game. With full controller support, 30 levels so far, and the opportunity to make custom levels for yourself, friends, family, and other people, it looks like it could be a bit of fun to test your platforming skills. Infinitrap: Rehamstered just came out of Early Access with a full release version on January 18th as well, so you’re getting to try the completed version.
