Back in November, I reported on an announcement that the upcoming game Demon Turf was getting a unique demo format. Demon Turf: Trials was meant to provide a demo and challenge competition at the same time. If you win the various challenges each week and reach the top of the leaderboard, you’d get your portrait made inside the game. Now the developers have announced an update that adds even more content to this demo experience.
Here is what the developers had to say about their latest patch and update: “Demon Turf Trials is our crazy take on a demo with quite the special twist: Each week a new Trial with leaderboards gets unlocked. Compete to be #1 and get a personalized portrait in the main game, coming in 2021!
Demon Turf Trials, our special demo with weekly challenges, just got BIGGER!
You can now play past the tutorial & explore the hub + two main levels from the Apocadesert turf!
We also added a playground to explore Beebz's move-set AND added a ton of player requested settings! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/5lbTAciIf5

And it just got BETTER. You can now play past the tutorial and experience an expanded demo of the main game! Check out more of the story as you explore the hubs & tackle two entire main levels! *gasp*
On top of that, we also added a playground where you can experiment with Beebz’ move-set in a safe environment and quickly learn more about the turf abilities you’d usually unlock much later in the game! Crucial if you want to compete in the weekly Trials!
And not only that, we’re also bringing along a bunch of fixes, balancing changes & new features that were heavily requested by YOU, our community!”
The main levels CAN be speedrun, but you don't need to! You can take your time, enjoy some good platforming, take some pictures and… Whoops, fell off a cliff. 😱 pic.twitter.com/PUTU5qFXmH

The press release also contained a list of things that were added, fixed, and changed in the update. Rather than list them all here, I will simply link to the update (here) on the Steam page so that you can check out the whole set of patch notes yourself. It is really great that Fabraz is taking the time not only to produce a quality game but also to support the demo version and give players some fun things to tide them over.
I don’t want to speak too soon here, but I think for the dev team of Demon Turf, 2021 looks pretty bright. With this much love and attention to a platformer and a devoted fanbase rallying around the new demo, hopefully, people won’t miss out on the game at launch. I for one am looking forward to trying it myself, we’ll keep an eye on Demon Turf: Trials for any updates too.
