Following the initial announcement back in September, some have been excited for the addition of EA Play to Xbox Game Pass. The service did see EA Play join for consoles back in November upon the release of the Xbox Series X and S around the 10th; however, it seems there is a problem with PC. PC players will have to wait a little longer for the service to be bundled with their Game Pass subscription. In a brief statement released yesterday via Xbox Wire, “When we originally set out out write this blog post, which would announce the available of EA Play on PC with Xbox Game Pass, it looked a little bit different.”

They went on to state: “Unfortunately, what had been a celebratory post is now one asking for a little more patience: We made the decision to delay until 2021.” Seemingly, as discussed in the post, the decision is one based on the integration for Game Pass PC and Ultimate members. “We established this partnership with EA because they are as passionate as we are about helping people and communities discover great games, and we knew we could provide a great experience for members by working together,” as the post would waffle on with. They concluded with, “In order to deliver on that, we need more time to provide the Xbox Game Pass experience.”

As press release notes, “We’ll have more to share early next year.” So expect to find out in the coming months when you’ll be able to play EA games on PC via the subscription service. With no new date for the release, we’ll just have to take the uncertain 2021 as an expectation for some time in the next couple of months.
