Finally, I can breathe a sigh of relief and know for sure that Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable in one week’s time. This assurance comes from the game’s developer, CD Projekt Red, unveiling the release time for the game across the world on December 9th and 10th. In my native Chicago time zone, I will be able to let the game grace my computer screen at 6:00 PM on the 9th, after a wait that has become a full-on meme at this point.

Now, the release timing outlines the playability of the game, however, there’s also the dreaded but very-necessary day one patch that will need to be downloaded before we can hop into the game. Depending on your download speeds, I would absolutely take this into account as it’s probably going to be several gigs worth of updating needed to get the most out of the game. This is the reason we saw the much-abated third delay for the title.

It’s a joy to see that we will be able to pre-load the game quite a few days ahead of its launch, as its size is nothing to be taken for granted. If you’re on the fence about the game, then be prepared for it to be around the hundred-gigabyte mark when all is said and done. If you’re struggling for storage space, this might push you over the mark, if Call of Duty: Warzone‘s absurd size is hogging too much real estate on your hard drive.

We’re as close as we have ever been to playing this intensely-anticipated game and I’m as excited as I was when I pre-ordered my Collector’s Edition a year and a half ago. It’s evident that CD Projekt Red is pushing out their desired vision after these delays, and it should prove to be a blast no matter what platform you choose to play it on. See you in Night City choombas, we’re in for a wild ride.
