The illustrious Assassin’s Creed series has had many memorable moments. From the first game’s ability to reinvent the stealth action title to the more recent open-world adventures, the series is always pushing boundaries. In its latest release, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, players are clearly liking what Ubisoft is doing. In fact, the game is now officially the strongest launch of the entire series.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has sold more units in its first week than any other Assassin’s Creed game sold during the same period. The great sales mean a huge profit. Ubisoft has a ~95% gross profit margin distributing via its platform Uplay and 88% via the Epic Store. Essentially, a $60 sale means $57 gross profit margin on Uplay vs $42 on Steam, according to Daniel Ahmad at Niko Partners.

There are some interesting statistics provided by Ubisoft in the press release. Players so far have covered more than 4 million kilometers of the game’s world. Likewise, they’ve spent time building their settlements to the tune of over 55 million buildings already unlocked since launch. Over 3.5 million games of Orlog, the in-game dice game with historical ties to Norse and Saxon culture, have been won so far. It’s a fun way to look at how much the game is being played outside of simply including things like player count or sales.

Overall, the game is a huge hit on all platforms it reached at launch. Players can experience the game on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Epic Games Store, and the Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, as well as on Stadia, Amazon Luna, and Ubisoft’s subscription service, Ubisoft+. That’s a lot of consoles!
