Four things in the world are constant with me: My love of creating things (music, film & TV, as well as writing), video games, and skateboarding. Those three culminate into the fourth thing, skating culture. A wide and diverse group of subcultures wrapped in subcultures making for a massive group of modern-day hippies connected by one thing, skating. You don’t have to be great at it or a skater at all to embed yourself in the culture. If you like the idea of being surrounded by like-minded individuals that enjoy music, art, film, video games, and everything that encompasses skating, you are practically in the club.

In the last two months alone, we’ve seen an interest in skating video games at a near all-time high. Yesterday Skater XL finally released. In May it was announced Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was being remastered, and in June, EA hastily shot an announcement that there will be a Skate game at some point in the next decade. Well, it seems that the bundle of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, (part of which sits on Metacritic’s “Best Video Games of All Time” list) is set to grow a little more with this remaster. The two games already have their soundtrack available to stream through the music platform Spotify.

Yesterday, it was revealed through Activision’s blog that the soundtrack will be extending from its reduced collection of tracks, adding a further 37. Some of songs are from artists that didn’t exist that the time of the game’s original release. This announcement came with a documentary/concert by Noisey, featuring some of the new faces featuring on the soundtrack. Those featured in the concert/documentary are Rough Francis, Chaii, Merkules, and Machine Gun Kelly.

For the entire list of new artists, you can check out Activision’s blog post or check out the Spotify playlist. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is set for release on September 4th, with the opening Warehouse level from Pro Skater 1 available as a demo through pre-orders from August 14th.
