I’ll be quick about this, as there is quite a lot to get through. Monday, I spoke about Twitch Prime adding Vane, Mike spoke about bands moving online as if StageIt hasn’t been around for a decade, and I squealed with glee over Watch Dogs Legion during Ubisoft Forward. Tuesday, Taylor spoke of the LEGO NES, and on Wednesday, I spoke about American Truck Sim rolling into Idaho. Thursday, I continued with dad games/simulators with Microsoft Flight Sim‘s physical release being fairly large, Taylor spoke about PES becoming DLC, and Zoë spoke about Watchmen‘s Rorschach getting their own comic series.

On to the Epic Games Store and this week, it is only one game, to the delight of me and the deadline. Yes, a year on from the first game releasing on the storefront for free, Torchlight 2 is this week’s game to pick up. Torchlight as a series is a high-fantasy, dungeon-crawling, Hack and Slash with class-based party members.

Torchlight 2 is, as Daft Punk would say, harder, better, and faster. It still has room to improve but has done enough. Staying comparable to its predecessor for those that enjoy high-fantasy, dungeon-crawlers, but adds much-needed additions similar to that of Dungeons 3 to its Dungeon Keeper roots. This along with a comparatively more in-depth game with a longer campaign and detailed character creation.

Torchlight 2 is available all week until July 23rd, when we switch back to a double-bill of free games on the Epic Games Store, with two games previously available through Twitch Prime. The follow up to Fullbright’s Gone HomeTacoma is a Sci-Fi walking simulator akin to Everyone’s Gone To The Rapture. Along with Tacoma is Next Up Hero, a little dungeon crawler that I seem to remember being pitched to me as a singleplayer game where the collective community online is beating a boss. Yes, I don’t understand it either. Both the Sci-Fi walking simulator and asynchronous dungeon-crawler will be available for free on the storefront next week.
