We’re not too far away from a new Halo title. Yes, it’s not set to release until this holiday with the Xbox Series X, but that’s going to be here before we know it. The year is flying by with lots of new changes. I think at this point, we could all use a little Master Chief action in our lives. Luckily, Microsoft looks to be ready to tease out some Halo content on Twitter. Here’s what you might have missed with yesterday’s short Halo video.

On Twitter, Halo‘s official account shared a video. The entirety of the teaser is only just over one minute, but there’s a lot to unpack. Some of the first dialogue in the video’s transmission is threatening and ominous: “the hour approaches; our forces occupy the ring.” That’s likely the titular Halo which could really be setting things up to a huge clash in the game’s most iconic setting.

This mysterious force seems set on making sure humanity burns to death, which is fair. Humans are pretty evil. Yet, the threat isn’t necessarily clear. Who could be posing this much of an impact to the humans near Halo? Simply called The Banished, the group talks about the legacy and will of “Him.” That could be anyone and I think the introduction of a new force is great for the game’s reset.

It’s not every day you get an announcement from one of the most popular game series on the planet. I fell into the Xbox fandom because of Halo and it’s a huge reason that I stick with it. We’ll have to wait and see just what Microsoft and 343 Studios have in store for us this holiday season.
