Upon scrolling my Facebook feed today, I came across a sponsored post for a band called Roman Pilot. What caught my eye were the words, “Stream 1/2 of Dwellings on 6/12/2020.” Immediately, I enabled the sound and was treated to a teaser that instantly got me excited for a newfound band. Isaac Wilson and Erik Tilja take part in this new track and are at the forefront of this 15-second look into the new piece.

This brief look into the upcoming single caught my attention as Isaac’s voice was merely layered over a divine tapping riff from Erik. The combination is literal music-to-my-ears, a testament to the enjoyability that progressive tunes can provide. Isaac recently featured on a similar band, Properties of Nature, for their track “L.S.F.H.Q.P.” and the man just goes all-out in his performances, which I’m sure he will for Roman Pilot’s “Space Debris.”

Roman Pilot has a self-titled EP to their name, which was released in 2019. This effort was instrumental, making “Space Debris” the band’s first time implementing vocals into the mix. There’s not much of a better fit than Isaac, who works with Erik in Dwellings and released Lavender Town in 2018, a staple in the Swancore scene. Roman Pilot takes a more progressive approach, but still exudes a lot of talent from the members.

It’s incredible how this short, succinct preview of the song has me dying to hear more. So much is accomplished in the 15 seconds that will have me on the edge of my seat until Roman Pilot unveils “Space Debris” into the world. Could we see a full record from the underrated group? I sure hope so, as this advertisement has done exactly what it set out to do for me, get me completely invested. Be sure to check out Roman Pilot ahead of the release of this highly-anticipated track!
