If you are one of the people who dislike the Epic Games Store, you may not have had Observation on your radar until now. Alternately, maybe you’ve seen advertisements and have been waiting for it to release on your preferred console or platform. Now, Steam users have a chance to dive into this Sci-Fi thriller, with the official steam release. Observation is a partnership between Scottish developer No Code and Devolver Digital that puts you in the role of an AI named S.A.M. As S.A.M., you will not only discover what happened to Dr. Emma Fisher and her crew, but you will uncover new mysteries as well.

You play the game by utilizing S.A.M to access cameras, control systems, and other aspects of the space station in order to assist Emma Fisher in uncovering what has happened to her crew. Observation previously released in 2019 on the Epic Games Store and PS4, winning a BAFTA award in the process.

Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker commented on the release and Observation as a whole, stating: “Computers are eventually going to kill us all so I applaud developer No Code on tackling the tough issues and also trying to make some cash off that fear.” Considering the idea of Artificial Intelligence and technology destroying mankind has been an aspect of Science Fiction for years now, I can’t exactly blame him for that idea.

If you haven’t already played Observation or have been waiting for it to release on Steam, there is no time like the present to do so now. There are mysteries afoot onboard the space station, and it is up to you and S.A.M. to find answers. It should also be noted, that until May 28th, you can get Observation on Steam for 50% off. If you’re a fan of existential horror or good Sci-Fi, this is a great game to check out while you’re stuck inside.
