The famous Wastelanders DLC expansion seems to finally be on its way to Fallout 76. Bethesda recently released its launch trailer, showing all new features and details the update has to offer.
To those unaware, The Wastelanders DLC is a significant update to Fallout 76, which has been in demand by fans since it’ll add much-needed NPCs to the game. Along with NPCs, it’ll also add more companions, a new reputation system, as well as an all-new main quest.
The update was initially to release on April 7th, but was delayed multiple times as well as a recent delay one-week delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Wastelanders DLC expansion is slated to launch on April 14th, for PS4, PC, and Xbox One as a free update.
An overview of the update, by Bethesda states:
“Wastelanders” brings a new beginning to Appalachia for first-time and veteran players alike with a new main quest, human NPCs, new choices, companions, a reputation system, and much more. Players will forge alliances with new factions in an effort to uncover the secrets of West Virginia, either in groups with friends or solo as a lone wanderer.”

As a bonus, Fallout 76 is also to release on steam, signifying the end of its exclusivity period on Bethesda’s own PC games launcher. Fallout 76 hasn’t been the best game around for quite some time now, and after its rocky launch and many bad decisions, we hope this new expansion will help set it in the right direction. For now though, we’ll just have to wait till April 14th.
