As someone who is just not a morning person, and never will be, I need something to pick me up in the morning, since I have to be at full attention at 8 AM. I stray away from coffee as it is too expensive, so now and then, I grab an energy drink to pick me up and get me going. Typically, I don’t have a favorite brand, I opt to go for the cotton candy flavor that most brands carry. Nonetheless, an ad for a sample of Raze Energy caught my eye with their impressive marketing tactics, so I took the chance on it and grabbed eight different flavors.

I started out with “Sour Gummy Worms,” my favorite candy, expecting a delicious new taste to enjoy. While the initial hit on the tongue doesn’t blow me away, the aftertaste is quite scrumptious and makes the sips worth it. Now, with 300mg caffeine drinks, it’s usually hit-or-miss for me, with a thin line between being energized and being anxious to the point of panic. Thankfully, Raze gave me a nice burst of attentiveness with no crash.

My second flavor was “Galaxy Burst.” This is a standout flavor, quite reminiscent of rock candy, bringing me a nostalgic rush back to my youth when I was a candy fiend. This experience was so good that I would consider it in my top 5, stacking up with the likes of Reign’s “Carnival Candy,” and Rockstar’s “Marshmallow.” If I saw this on a storefront shelf, I’d grab it, no question. I would advise the reader to not enjoy the taste too quickly, as you could end up bouncing off the walls if consumed too quickly!

While I try to shy away from drinking energy drinks habitually, Raze is a pleasant surprise. I could see it having the potential to hang with the biggest names in the industry, especially with their intelligent marketing strategy, which managed to secure my purchase. I feel that I’ve gotten my money’s worth so far, and I’m looking forward to trying the other flavors I have, including “Grape Bubblegum,” “Voodoo,” and “Baja Lime!”
