I have deep respect for multi-talented individuals on the internet. There is so much to learn when mastering a talent, so those that can manage to master several are a marvel. Take Kane Lacey as a strong example; the man who started out making memes, then moved to streaming video games, all the while dabbling with creating music. The man has done all three of these successfully, but lately, he has put a lot of focus on the latter.
To kick off 2020, Kane released the vibrant song “She,” with a truly passionate chorus that laments a foregone relationship. With a steadfast melody containing layered vocals amongst two octaves and a beat that brings out the sadness, this track is a quintessential breakup staple. “She” managed to get put on a popular Spotify playlist, and has amassed a whopping 17,000 plays at the time of this article’s writing, an impressive amount for the humble Kane.
Kane then went on to release “Drowning” in February, continuing the anguish through an emotional venture in a tight one minute and thirty second runtime. With more of an alternative feel, “Drowning” weeps, “I’ve got nothing left, it’s all disappeared, I’m sinking in my own thoughts, there’s no one here.” I would love if this song had just one more verse to continue the sorrowful sentiments, but I can be content, as good things still come in small packages.
The newest single from Kane is “Bed,” and his most lyrically complex yet. His vocal prowess is best characterized within this song, with more diversity shown through pitch variation in the verses. I’m personally very glad that Kane has dedicated time to perfecting his musical mastery, as these three tracks make for a stupendous listen through and through. Kane is highly-recommended from me, as any one of these songs have potential to elevate him to new heights!
