Warning: This Episode contains spoilers for the latest episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Do not read further if you aren’t caught up.

I have been extremely positive on this newest season of The Clone Wars, but this week’s “On the Wings of Keeradaks” not only left me unsatisfied but also extremely bored. The reason for this, is that most of the episode’s 20 minute run time was spent in battle, with little banter between the characters and some slapstick comedy that really made this episode fell like filler.

The episode’s events pick up exactly where “A Distant Echo” left off. Rex has found Echo alive but suffering at the hands of Wat Tambor and the Techno Union. They are now escaping the factory in which Echo was trapped in. That in itself is the entirety of that plot. We don’t get to see much more than that and what we do see of Echo and his trauma is left more to the imagination than is shown to the audience; because as soon as he was unhooked from the machine he was back to his old self.

The audience is treated to a lovely animated escape scene, but after that the show just gets stale as the main crew are chased through the skies by Wat Tambor’s droid army. At this point we have seen this hundreds of times in Star Wars. The good guys run away, the bad guy chases and gets the native race of aliens involved in the war when at first they don’t want to get involved.

This is a tired message in the series that no one can remain undecided in times of war and is one theme that I would gladly see retired from The Clone Wars. Specifically, i think it should be retired in these last few episodes. We just don’t have time to retread old messages when each arc is only four episodes long.

“On the Wings of Keeradracks” was a bore and was more filler then anything. There were no character moments worth mentioning, mindless action sequences, and a retread of the same old message Star Wars has been doing for years. It is safe to say that this week’s episode was disappointing, here’s hoping that the Bad Batch arc ends with a bang, and some some satisfying story wrap ups.
