One of the most anticipated PlayStation exclusives of the year, Ghost of Tsushima, has finally had its release date revealed. The PlayStation 4 exclusive, developed by Sucker Punch, is set to release on June 26th. Alongside this release date was a new story trailer. The new trailer aims to give us more of an understanding of the main storyline of Ghost of Tsushima.
It follows the story of Jin Sakai, otherwise referred to as Ghost. He uses an array of skills and techniques, learned from his mentor, against a Mongol army led by the ruthless Khotun khan.
The trailer is not only highly cinematic but also shows some gameplay aspects too. It shows Ghost taking down enemies stealthily, head-on, and on horseback. Players will experience all styles from Ghost of Tsushima.
The trailer left players surprised, as most did not expect anything from the game so soon. It’s a good thing we were wrong, as the game is set to arrive soon and just a month after Sony’s other anticipated title, The Last of Us Part 2, which releases on May 29th.
Alongside the trailer, Sucker Punch also revealed three new versions of the game available for pre-order right now. There’s the standard edition and then the Digital Deluxe Edition, which costs $70 and includes the Hero of Tsushima skin set with an in-game horse, saddle, mask, sword, and armor set. Also included are two in-game items: the Charm of Hachiman’s Favor and a technique point, as well as a Samurai PS4 dynamic theme.
Along with it is the $70 special physical edition, with the same items as its digital version but includes a steel bookcase, digital mini art book, developer commentary, and the sword and mask from the Hero of Tsushima set.
Lastly, we have the Collector’s Edition, which will cost $170. It includes a replica of Jin’s mask (porcelain and not suitable for wearing), a physical art book, a steel bookcase, a 4.5-foot-long war banner, a traditional wrapping cloth, and the world’s map artistically painted on cloth, along with all content from the Deluxe Edition.
It’s nice to get a game released earlier than expected. Now, if Sony could unveil its PS5 reveal event, that would be perfect. Ghost of Tsushima releases June 26th on PS4.
