The British Academy Games Awards 2020 (BAFTA) nominations were announced earlier this week. The awards aim to celebrate the best games of the past year in many different categories, featuring some of the most recent and significant games currently out. That being said, two games have already broken the long-standing record of total nominations given to a game. Both Control and Death Stranding were nominated in a whopping 11 categories. This is a first in the BAFTA award’s 16-year history.

Other games to receive a considerable amount of nominations include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Outer Wilds, and Life is Strange 2, which received five nominations each, with Disco Elysium receiving seven.

This year introduced four new categories to the awards, including the animation and technical achievement awards. These awards aim to nominate individual performers for the first time as well. The nominees include Norman Reedus, for his role in Death Stranding, and Martti Suosalo for his role as the janitor in Control. Other individuals to be honored at the awards include Gabe Newell, Tim Schafer, and Hideo Kojima, who will be receiving the Fellowship award, BAFTA’s highest individual honor.

This year features a variety of incredible games, in many different categories. Whoever the winners are this year, we’re at least assured they’re all deserving of it. With that said, here is a list of all the nominees below.
