As the month prepares to end, with a new one on the horizon; a brand new set of free games are coming for PlayStation Plus subscribers. PlayStation recently announced the games available to download earlier this week. Remember your free games are yours to keep forever as long as you keep your subscription active.
The first of the month’s free games is Shadow of the Colossus, the beautifully remade HD version of the 2005 PS2 title. It follows a man named Wander who seeks to receive his revive his loved one from death. He travels far and wide, slaying a considerable amount of colossi to achieve this goal. The game aside from being beautiful and incredibly cinematic, is set in a boss-rush style that not many games are fond of implementing.
Each colossus is arguably better than the last, but they all require the player to think differently each time in order to succeed. The game is one of Sony’s first-party titles, so it would’ve wound up among the PlayStation Plus free games eventually.
The next free game is Sonic Forces. This title is admittedly less exciting than the previous free game but it is still enjoyable to some. Sonic Forces includes both side-scrolling and 3D platforming elements. The story is set in a time when the evil Dr. Eggman has accomplished taking over the world with the help of a mysterious new villain named Infinite. As a unique character you create, you must assist Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and the rest of the resistance to put a stop to Dr. Eggman’s villainous ways.
It surely isn’t the best Sonic game out there, but devoted fans who haven’t already given this one a try can still pick up this title at no cost. It’s a perfect time to do so, since the Sonic movie is out now. You may have heard that these titles leaked earlier with reports from a forum post with an ad listing of the two games. It seems for the first time in a while, a leak has been proven to be true.
Be sure to keep an eye out for these games when they replace The Sims 4, The BioShock Collection, and Firewall Zero Hour on PlayStation Plus come Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020.
