A huge complaint about Nintendo during the Wii U days, among many, many other things, was their marketing. We didn’t really see many ads for the console, and we essentially knew nothing about the product. Well, the Switch era is garnishing a lot more marketing opportunities, as well as really cool collaborations and projects. A project coming up, Nintendo Switch airport lounges, might be one of the most fun projects the company has come up with yet.

At four major airports, Switch lounges are going to be coming soon. O’Hare in Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Seattle-Tacoma, and Dulles in Washington D.C. are all getting these lounges starting today for Dallas, and starting February 17th for other locations. According to Nintendo, “the lounges will feature comfortable seating in the Nintendo Switch iconic red, charging ports and Nintendo Switch playable demos available in both handheld and TV mode.

Some of the included games are Super Mario Party, Tetris 99, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite are going to be featured at the lounges. As of now, the lounges are only temporary. Gaming areas at airports are nothing new; Gameway is a company that operates game lounges, two of which are at DFW. Those gaming areas featured Xbox One consoles and the PS4.

I just got back from a flight last week, and with a good hour to kill, I played my Nintendo Switch. Honestly, if the option to play games on a full TV was there, I would have taken it. Well, maybe not during flu seasons, but still it is a good idea. Airports are sometimes a temporary home during lay-overs, delays, and overnight cancellations. Why not make the experience a bit more enjoyable, right? Would you play at one of these lounges? Let us know in the comments!
