SPOILER ALERT: Please do not read this article if you have not watched the show’s finale!

After six seasons, several emotions, and tons of character arcs, Bojack Horseman has concluded. The show that bordered on the line of dark comedy and deep introspection reached millions of viewers on Netflix, and even became the first show from the service to broadcast to network television, seeing episodes premiere on Comedy Central as of a few years ago. There was a lot to wrap a bow around, with several characters getting the spotlight throughout the show; did everyone get a happy ending?

Todd runs a daycare and has found love. I have to give props to the show for its excellent asexual representation! Mr. Peanut Butter lost Pickles to Joey Pogo but is pleased with who he is as Birthday Dad. Princess Carolyn and Judah finally realized they were a good fit, as she no longer has to be a single parent to a hedgehog. Diane finally got to writing, dated Buffalo Guy and tied the knot with him before the show’s end. However, what about Bojack?

Bojack’s misfortune followed him to the end of the show, as he must finish a prison sentence after falling off the sobriety wagon once again. Did he deserve every bad thing that happened to him? That is debatable, as Bojack’s efforts to finally better himself proved unsuccessful. It is evident that his intentions saw a shift in the latter half of season six. Bojack truly enjoyed helping his students act, and he was good at it. Unfortunately, cancel culture got the best of him.

The final scenes of the show detail Bojack having reflective conversations with his best friends. He talks more than amicably with his best friends, who have stuck with him no matter what he has burdened them with. Princess Carolyn, Mr. Peanut Butter, and Todd all share a delightful conversation with him, but things aren’t so smooth with Diane. Nevertheless, the two enjoy a moment under the stars and prove that they are content with where they have ended up. Even though he is still in prison for a few more months, I believe Bojack has seen the worst of his troubles and has nowhere to go but up. The show’s conclusion details that all the trouble was worth it, and is just what Bojack Horseman needed to cement its legacy.
