Would you kindly pull up a chair? Would you kindly listen to me pontificate about games? Would you kindly not move your cursor to close the tab? 2K, would you kindly just release something people want on the Nintendo Switch already? Of course, there are games on the platform and some are ones you’d want, but there is a WWE 2K18 which was a mess as well. Yes even before 2K20‘s persistent issues. As one of the largest publishers in the world, one might hope for at least something from 2K that is a little more taxing than Civ 6 and sports games.
So maybe it is the idea that they announced they bought and set up a whole new studio and two offices to create another BioShock that says, release BioShock on Switch. Maybe it was the little pixies in the ear of Stauss Zelnick yelling “money!” Either way, the man I have a sneaking suspicion that is one of those aliens from Doctor Who‘s “World War Three” episode may have just listened to those greedy little pixies. At least according to the pixies in my ear that yell about Taiwanese rating boards leaking things on their websites.
Ok, two paragraphs of joking aside. If reports are true and this somehow isn’t an elaborate ruse, the entire BioShock: The Collection is coming to the plucky little handheld/home console. When? You might be asking with bated breath, so I’ll draw this sentence out a little longer to see how long you last. No one knows. It is a rating board leak, so this could be an early part in the process of setting up for a big announcement that’s as limp as your dad, or we’re about two weeks from it being announced off handily.
We do know this is one of the many games people want on the Switch, and it shouldn’t be too hard. I mean, CD Projekt Red is currently using black magic to suspend The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the console. Getting some seventh-generation gaming working on this eighth-generation console shouldn’t be too hard. Other titles conspicuously working on this small slightly underpowered slab are L.A. Noire, Dark Souls: Remastered, and Skyrim.
