Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s most ambitious title to date; and since its first announcement at E3 last year, fans have been starved for info on the title for quite some time now. That being said, fans who keep up to date will notice that Elden Ring is set to appear at the Taipei Game show next month as part of Sony’s third party title offerings.
The show will take place from February 6th to 9th. This was hopefully an opportunity for a new trailer or news on the title, but its sadly been confirmed the trailer promised is, in fact, just a Chinese subbed version of the E3 trailer.
This makes sense As Taipei Game Show usually focuses on showcasing Chinese localized versions of new titles. Elden Ring is a collaboration of FromSoftware and George R.R. Martin and is to be an open-world game with many returning mechanics from Dark Souls.
Since it was initially revealed, it’s been a long time since we’ve heard anything else of it, aside from its recent listing on Target showing a June 30th release date, which hasn’t been confirmed by FromSoft itself. Though since it’s been in development since 2017, the release date is a possibility.
It’s sad we won’t be seeing any new info on Elden Ring, but Taipei Game Show 2020 is set to be an interesting event, featuring games like the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Resident Evil Resistance, Persona 5 Royal, and Nioh 2, all playable on the showroom floor, with other titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Last Of Us Part 2, and Yakuza 7 being featured as well.
