Usually, when we do these weekly or monthly articles about deals, we tend to leave them until the next one comes around. The issue with our Twitch Prime one is the ever-evolving advent calendar that it is, adding new pieces throughout each month. Admittedly, I’m mostly in these articles because of the games. You might have noticed as I am usually less excited about the Rainbow Six Siege and Apex Legends stuff than the games at the end. When it comes to World of Tanks or anything else that’s appeared over several months, I blindly run through it.
However, today I’m not here to talk about the entire list of content you can pick up, as I’ve already done that this month. Today is a gentle little reminder that the Twitch Prime loot is ever-changing, adding new bits and pieces. In this case, there are another five games coming for a very short time. With that, let’s jump straight into what will be gone before we get back from our break, and I get to writing the next article full of another five games and something about Runescape.
As I said in the last article: If you are picking up the content for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the League of Legends-style game for mobile devices. One of the deals that run every two weeks, offering skins and other in-game cosmetics, is running out on the 1st of January. You’ll want to pick up that before the 5th of 9 total drops is gone.
Sticking with mobile games, King of Fighters ALLSTAR also has one of its fortnightly drops ending before the end of the year. The offer, much like those before and after it, consists of just ten battle card tickets for the mobile game. Personally, I don’t know what the battle cards do; I’d assume let you play the game, but if you’re already playing it might be worth picking up or give you a reason to start.
We have a new entrant into the cave of mild insults at mobile gaming and complete disinterest. Raid: Shadow Legends has even more free mobile guff to peddle. The turn-based RPG looks about as fun as J.R.R. Tolkien’s PTSD-laden mind would be to explore, with this loot being particularly dull. What is being called an “exclusive epic champion” is an ultimate Galek, a special variant of an in-game character. The character looks to be what Marvel would do with any Orc character; sandblast all personality off, give him a purple mohawk, and add some spiky shoulder pads.
Despite being part of the Game Awards show, I have no idea what Black Desert is; much less the mobile port. However, if you are playing Black Desert Mobile, Twitch Prime is offering a starter pack for those getting into the game.
The final in-game content is fairly simple and I’ve been speaking about it for a few articles now. The Wolfenstein Youngblood bundle is a full set of armor and a handful of weapons with the worst camo for any battle. At least, the worst next to the luminescent yellow camo for the 2008 game Haze, but that’s unrelated and is probably the reason Crytek UK (formerly Free Radical Design) died. Nonetheless, this battle grey camo will do for fights in the PS3-era of shooters.
Finally, the last of the things I begrudgingly call “loot” is a discount from the owner of Twitch, Amazon. Yes, while I did think the OverWatch discounts in months gone by and others were egregious, it only made sense to offer either trial periods or significant discounts. This one makes a little less sense given you’re probably making up the difference, or the better portion of that, with your subscription anyway. If you are a Twitch Prime member you can get Twitch emblazoned fleece blankets or whatever a “onesie” is with a whole ten dollars off. For non-Prime members you can get 20% off all products with the code: “HOLIYAY20“
Though if you are in the UK you get a whole other deal. For those in the UK, you get to decorate your person with all kinds of Twitch guff with a whole 50% off of each piece of Twitch merch in your basket. Both of these deals are ending on the evening of the 29th in each country. If you are not in either of these regions, we do suggest that you check the crown at the top of the Twitch home page.

As announced just under a week ago, you will be able to pick up a further five games with your Twitch Prime membership. A Devolver-Digital-centric five games kicked off with the collector’s edition of the wonderful rogue-lite dungeon crawler Enter The Gungeon. By far, when it was free on the Epic Games Store earlier this year, it was a highlight from doing those many articles.
The second game is Witcheye; a game currently only available on iOS and Android, though the developer notes on their portfolio site that it will be coming to another platform that’s as yet unannounced. Interestingly, while being a 16-bit platformer, it’s very different from the typical Devolver Digital game; It lacks the blood, gore, and hatred of the player in that fun Hotline Miami way. As I’ve not played it or even heard of it, I have to say I can’t wait to give Witcheye a chance.
Ape Out, much like any man listening to the Village People, Kacey Musgraves, any disco music, Scissor Sisters, Lady Gaga, or Cher, I like throwing some men against a wall. This particular one is about an ape trying to escape, though it isn’t a weird Japanese game called Ape Escape, and features one-hundred percent more jazz.
Heave Ho; in reverse order, what did Santa yell at the elves putting his big sack in the sleigh. No really, Heave Ho is just one of those games that I’ll not spend much time in because it is a PC game with local co-op, the most incongruous of decisions. A console is understandable because that’s under the TV in the living room; a PC is usually in an office where you’re unlikely to be entertaining, unless you’re playing a finger game like that time I declared a Thumb War at work. Though according to the developer, Le Cartel Studio, there will be new content in 2020. So now is the perfect time to get it.
The final game in the additional collection is Gato Roboto, a one-bit Metroidvania that Dari wrote about on its release in May. After playing Devolver Digital’s previous one-bit game, Minit, and enjoying it quite a lot; I am excited to play this one.
For these games, you’ll want to be quite quick as they are only available from today the 26th until the 31st. A short period of time, though you are getting a total of 10 games this month with Hover, Hue, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, When Ski Lifts Go Wrong; and ToeJam & Earl Back in the Groove already available.
