One of the absolute worst things that can happen to a band is losing not only their method of travel, but the instruments they use to make music. Just that has occurred to one of my personal favorite post-hardcore acts, Dayseeker. The van, parked in Fullerton, California, was stolen during the night of December 13th, and it held the equipment of drummer Mike Karle. Thankfully, the guitars the band uses were not present.

This setback is extreme for the band, but they are not the first to suffer this fate. Bands over the years, such as Full of Hell, Kingdom of Giants, and The Stone Foxes have run into this issue. Some bands only get their equipment stolen and get to keep their van, but that does not soften the blow that this deals; while that is replaceable, sometimes sentimental items that cannot be replaced are stolen. This further increases the emotional toll that the theft brings about. The touring process is already expensive, where bands receive minute compensation and have countless expenses, from lodging, to food, to gas money.

Below is a list of the items stolen; please keep an eye out for this equipment if you live in the area.

Dayseeker are set to tour the U.S. in a massive package with We Came As Romans, The Devil Wears Prada, and Gideon, which will surely solidify their presence in the metal scene. We at Phenixx hope you will support the band in this trying time. While at the time of writing, there is no GoFundMe set up to benefit the band; you can help by purchasing some of their merchandise as they have some pretty awesome designs still in stock. Even streaming their music helps contribute to the money they will need to recuperate. Sleeptalk is high up on my album of the year list, so I suggest you give the band a try to see why I am so passionate for them to succeed.
