As most do, I remember when the tycoon game was king, when shooters were blocky, and “loot boxes” weren’t a thing. Ah, the past, a beautiful time of isometric park building fun, a bit of killing rats in a hospital, or even running a hotel. Tycoon games have, for the most part, fallen out of the limelight now as developers want games to feature more testicle shrinking than business management. Though there have been a small few who have been on a conservation effort.

Parkitect, a lovely isometric wonder harking back to the early days of the Roller Coaster Tycoon series is one such game. Releasing last year, after a few years in the seemingly never-ending world of early access, the team have been working hard on something new for the game. The team over at Texel Raptor have been working on some DLC alongside their next big patch of improvements to the game. The DLC is called “Taste of Adventure” and is bringing a whole lot of new scenery, rides, and stores into the game.

The most eye-catching of the two new themes would be candy world, though the adventure world does seem to give both safari and jungle vibes. This along with making lava available for your worlds, is just the tip of the iceberg I know I have some evil plans with some inverted coasters. You are also given some river rapids, safari rides, and a whole lot more. This along with some customizable text, elevators, and turntables, there’s a lot more you can do with your park.

That entirely ignores the free update which is bringing its own catalog of useful features. From modding support for creating custom coasters, zoning, custom signs with modding support, photo sections on rides, a bit of more customization in the form of watercolors, and more. By far this makes Texel Raptor’s modern updates to the classic Roller Coaster Tycoon-style games the best around. The Taste of Adventure DLC is set to release on the 20th of November.
