Death Stranding, the newest and highly anticipated new IP by video game legend Hideo Kojima (creator of the Metal Gear Solid series), is now set to arrive on PCs in the early summer months of 2020. Kojima was first sought out by Sony after his rather unusual departure from Konami.
In a press release made by 505 games CEO Raffi Galante he stated that “We are extremely excited and honored to be working with the supremely talented team at Kojima Productions and to bring Death Stranding to PC gamers around the world. Death Stranding will take gamers through a completely original experience that will delight PC gamers everywhere.”

Death Stranding was originally thought up to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive title. Kojima himself, however, took to Twitter to bring this announcement to the world. Death Stranding has made a name for itself because of its cryptic creator. Kojima is the definition of mad genius as he melds ridiculous, yet somehow believable narratives throughout his games. I myself have become fascinated with his creative endeavors, though I am still lukewarm on Death Stranding itself.
Kojima has seemingly been given free rein for his newest creative endeavor, which could go one of three ways. First, it could go the Metal Gear Solid 5 route and be an absolute master class in game design, but fall by the wayside story-wise and make Death Stranding feel lesser as a whole. The second route would be along the lines of Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2. Both games have fantastic narratives with replayable gameplay loops. Taking a page out of their book would make Death Stranding a modern classic.
Lastly, Kojima could somehow fail entirely at making Death Stranding a great gaming experience and make a true to form ridiculous film that will captivate some audiences but alienate the masses. Either way, Death Strainding goes I am more than intrigued and excited to see the end result of what could be the most cryptic promotion of a game yet.
Death Stranding is out on PlayStation 4 on November 8th, 2019 and out on PC in the early summer of 2020.
