It is a scary time, not only because people are talking more about Christmas than they were in April. It is also October, which means Scrooges, such as myself, also hate everyone that wants to refer to Hocus Pocus every three minutes. With less than a month until Halloween we’re going to get all the spooky and “scary” games this month. This month’s games in the Twitch Loot are scary, but for different reasons.
The first piece of loot you can collect this month has to do with Rocket League, a sequel to the worst named game of all time known as Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. The first of this seemingly monthly unlock features the Twitch Prime exclusive Nemesis Battle-Car with six decals included. This bundle will be with us for a while as it ends on March 27th, 2020. Regardless, there are four total packs to come. The bundle is available to claim on all platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam PC.
Next up is the monthly World of Tanks care package. This time it is Care Package India and a captured King Tiger Tank that’s available until the 28th of October. One would assume this will just be the monthly care package that often includes health kits, a 14-day rental of two premium tanks, and other cosmetics.
Also available until the 28th is the League of Legends twin egg promotion, which will provide four legends. In short, in these two egg promotions across two months, there are two random legends in each monthly promotion. The second month’s egg promotion, you’ll receive your two legends and a shard skin token. Yes, even I am confused about that one, but more so because it is League of Legends.
You’ll have to be quite fast on this next one, as the Infiltrator Mask for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile (You know, the thing that was popular before Fortnite) will end very soon. In what seems to be a fortnightly (teehee) deal you’ll be able to pick up some Twitch Prime exclusive cosmetics labeled “Infiltrator” for the iOS and Android port of PUBG. You’ll want to be quick to pick up the mask as that deal ends on Friday the 4th, with the second piece of content being the Infiltrator jacket and gloves; followed by shoes.
The next piece is less so loot for you and more so loot for others. You can now gift specified loot that Twitch Prime has set out already. According to the blog post denoting how this works, you’ll be able to gift up to three extra copies of Dauntless loot to others. Later loot you’ll be able to gift will come from World of Tanks, Rainbow Six Siege, and more.
Speaking of cosmetics in an online game, the final team in the desolate ruin of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2’s interpretation of Washington DC have had their gift shop looted. Fans of the Washington Daggers will be able to collect their loot for the team’s shirts, pants, and most likely harnesses for some bullets. This conclusion to The Division 2‘s loot will end on the 24th of October.
I’ll bundle the next two together since they are both Rockstar games and both the online versions of fine Rockstar games. Red Dead Online and GTA Online are each offering ‘free’ currency to incentivize spending, with a 15 percent increase on any shark cards or gold bars purchased from select retailers and Twitch connected accounts. With GTA Online, however, you will receive the Lago Zancudo bunker and free access to the penthouse suite in the Diamond Casino and Resort. This also seems to suggest offering a complete rebate for those that have already purchased the bunker. Red Dead Online‘s offer is a bounty hunter’s license.
Next up is exclusive Twitch Prime Rainbow Six Siege Caveira Operator set. One would assume, with basic knowledge of how Siege works, you will get a nice cosmetic outfit, gun skin, and a little bit to dangle of said gun. This month’s operator is Caveira, next is Jackal, and last is Ash; I assume she’ll get a Poké Ball for her gun. The offer for Caveira’s set is ending on the 16th of October.
Another one you’ll have to be quick for is the Mirage and Kraber skins for Apex Legends. The second to last loot drop provides Mirage a “Holo Man” skin and Kraber sniper a “Night Watch” skin. This offer will end on the 9th of October, so be quick.
I don’t understand Twitch Sings, it may just be something youngsters understand as the next evolution of X-Factor, Pop Idol, and American Idol; I don’t get it. That said, Twitch Prime is offering avatars for your Twitch Sings avatar, and this month’s avatar of choice is a school uniform. Anyway, the deal ends on the 14th of October for this very strange one.
An abridged version of the Warface loot is required, as it is still the Female Nanosuit bundle I wrote about last month. This bundle provides Nanosuit body camo for the rifleman, sniper, medic, and engineer. The last of the Warface bundles is on offer until the 21st of October.
I’ll also abridge the Minion Masters DLC that’s on offer. Twitch Prime is offering the Void’s Onslaught DLC to the free-to-play game Minon Masters for PC and Xbox One. This offer also ends on the 21st of October.
Now to the games: the first of which is Adam Wolfe; a grim, dark, and strange game to feature a moody man holding a gun. A man I assume to be called Adam Wolfe looks like a more interesting Alan Wake; however, he’s on the cover of a hidden object game. Yep, might as well be a Mystery Case Files game. A strange choice for a month of horror.
The next one is bound to annoy someone as it is a game key to use on the Epic Games store. The Walking Dead: Michonne is a mini-series in the Telltale Walking Dead universe. What I said in my review of the definitive collection of Telltale’s The Walking Dead is how it is much easier to select things in quick succession on PC and the Xbox One (which I reviewed the game on). If you are still hesitant of the picking up the definitive collection, now is a perfect time to try part of it out for free.
A thing I don’t understand is children: they are smelly, sticky, and loud; I don’t need that. Nonetheless, one of the more popular series of the last few years has been Stranger Things, which follows some children fighting Cthulhu or something. This year saw the release of the third season and a tie-in game, which Lisa reviewed earlier this year.
Next up is the 2D survival horror (which means more zombies than you can poke a stick with) XBLA title, Deadlight: Director’s Cut. This game is certainly more horrific than Adam Wolfe, but this time more for the contents of the game rather than its decision to be a strange genre. Deadlight is a hard one to speak about as it is both interesting to me in that I’ve not really played it, and boring me at the concept stage.
The final game, yes there are five games this month, is not horror in the slightest; unless you don’t want to live with your mother in the 70s and look like Marc Maron. Serial Cleaner is a game I love and adore to death as you work as you play as a stealthy cleaner for the Mafia. David wrote a review of this one about a month ago and I can not recommend reading that and picking up the game enough. Though if you were already a Twitch Prime member last time it was on the service, you may already have it.
