Dragalia Lost is an action-RPG gacha game that is developed by Cygames and published by Nintendo. Dragalia Lost, is now officially a year old. Playing as the Prince of Alberia, players gather new adventurers and dragons, forming pacts to take on the Dyrenell Empire. Players also enjoy a whole lot of side events. The Prince sure does love to celebrate holidays amidst disaster, and now, players can celebrate the game’s anniversary, which is currently ongoing!

First off, for people that haven’t played the game, there are a bunch of goodies going around that makes now a good time to hop in. From September 26th to November 1st, there’s a bunch of good log-in bonuses for each day up to 10 days. The first log-in during the anniversary period will give 5000 Wyrmite, the game’s free currency; the second day gives Mini Mids, a max-leveled grass-elemental dragon and every day after that gives rare materials. From September 26th to October 6th, players will also get to do a free 10x pull for each day.

Those free pulls and the 5000 Wyrmite are well worth using. From September 26th to October 1st, a Gala Dragalia summon banner will be up. The focus of this banner, in reference to events in the main story’s 10th chapter, is the Gala Prince. Much like past gala characters, the Gala Prince is a souped up version of a main story character. He has useful skills that act as strong attacks and teamwide buffs, and he is also the first character to get the Shapeshifting Boost co-ability, which boosts the damage and transformation duration of anyone on the team using dragons.

During the anniversary, an event called Fractured Futures will be running. This event has a special promotion in that beating an EX raid for the first time will allow you to get a free elemental-attuned 5-star weapon. As it’s pretty difficult to get those, it’s a huge boon. Speaking of those, previously, the ability to do EX raids showed up randomly after doing an expert or nightmare level raid. From this point on, players will earn Otherworld Gems from challenging those difficulty levels, allowing them to access EX level raids whenever they want.

The game’s macro-game of constructing buildings to get more resources and buff character stats is also seeing some changes. In an additional effort to entice new players, the construction times of buildings will be halved for a player’s first 30 days, from this point on. Of course, if you’re still impatient, an item called the Hustle Hammer has been introduced, which finishes building constructions instantly. Another new element, Honey Tea, is also introduced; a store of stamina-replenishing tea is slowly built up alongside normal stamina regeneration, so players can call on that if they’re low on stamina.

It is important to note that the aforementioned Fractured Futures event, will be begin on September 29th, and will end on October 10th.

The Dragalia Digest stream that announced all this in advance, also teased a whole bunch of future features. There will be more difficulty options added to dragon trials and bosses, along with time-attack events. A 6th tier of Mana Circles will be added to characters to adjust for this power creep, allowing players to further improve the stats and skills of characters. Dragalia Lost‘s main story will also continue in December, with a new chapter planned to be released every 2 months afterward.

The most genuinely surprising thing was the announcement of an upcoming collaboration. Dragalia Lost had previously collaborated with Fire Emblem: Heroes, another fellow Nintendo brand gacha. However, instead of collaborating with another Nintendo property, gacha game or, well, anything fantasy related, Dragalia Lost will soon have a collaboration with Mega Man entitled Megaman Chaos Protocol. More news is expected to be announced on October 1st, which I’m looking forward to because that’s honestly nuts.

Of course, the home menu will play a new anniversary theme until October 17th, getting players into a celebratory mood. Additionally, among other minor changes and additions, the title screen art has been changed, with it getting tweaked further depending on how far in you are in the story.

As somebody that’s played Dragalia Lost since it launched, all this news is very good and I’m looking forward to what Cygames is showing in the future. If you haven’t tried the game before, now’s a good time to get a taste!
