Companies these days sure love doing digital presentations to show what they have coming up, and Yacht Club Games has just jumped on that train. The Shovel Knight developers, recently showed off a whole bunch of upcoming Shovel Knight stuff.

Ever since the original game, new expansions were released starring the other knights, with new levels and playstyles. Now, King Knight is joining the likes of Plague Knight and Specter Knight with Shovel Knight: King of Cards. After two years of development, the twirling opulent knight joins the fray with his flashy spins and dashes. Alongside him is a side-game called Joustus, an in-game card game that’s setting itself up to be Shovel Knight‘s version of Triple Triad. Altogether, King of Cards is reportedly the biggest game Yacht Club has put out so far.

Shovel Knight in general is receiving some updates. There are a bunch of accessibility changes, including new languages, a more convenient way of playing Plague Knight and new pronoun options. If you have a Nintendo console, you get to use the upcoming amiibos for Specter Knight, Plague Knight and King Knight to unlock new costumes in their campaigns and in Shovel Knight Showdown. You will also get new little fairy companions based on whatever amiibo you scanned in following you around, which is nice, I guess.

Speaking of, a trailer for Shovel Knight Showdown was shown off. Showdown is a single-player and multiplayer experience that acts as a combat mode for Shovel Knight, bringing the familiar characters into something Super Smash Bros-esque. Mona, a fan favorite character from Plague of Shadows, was also announced to be joining the roster, via a detailed post on how she works on Yacht Club Games’ site.

All of this will be collected in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, the complete collection of all this Shovel Knight content. While already available, the new King Knight campaign and Showdown will be added in free updates. What’s new is that Treasure Trove will now have an Xbox One physical edition, which will come out with all this content on the disc.

What is a digital presentation without a surprise at the end? At the end of the presentation, Yacht Club Games revealed Shovel Knight Dig, a game being made in collaboration with Nitrome. The NES artstyle has been upgraded to something more colorful and vibrant for Shovel Knight’s upcoming adventure, which has him chasing Drill Knight underground.

In a further contrast with the main Shovel Knight games, Shovel Knight Dig is a bit of a roguelike, as levels are randomly generated. Shovel Knight can upgrade his equipment in the macrogame so that he can be better equipped to fight the new enemies and knights that await him below. Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight has been an icon in the world of indie games. It’s a game that’s had a long life and with this presentation, it’s shown that it still has a lot more to it.
