I’ve been playing quite a bit of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, my first return to series since Black Flag, and I love it. There are boats, the island of Lesbos, Kassandra, a well-made story, a fun game, and everything I want out of an Assassin’s Creed. Sure, it isn’t groundbreaking or shaking the core of video games to their core (no pun intended.) It is what it needs to be. It is also huge, at over 30 hours in I’m nowhere in the story.

This makes the prospect of DLC a little daunting, though Ubisoft is currently giving away the first part of The Fate of Atlantis DLC free to everyone that owns the game. Depending on the storefront you are using to download the game from, you will be able to find it quicker than I have on the Uplay store. On the Microsoft store, where I have the game downloaded, it was a simple case of finding it, looking at the “similar” tab, and downloaded the free episode.

Though you may be thinking, “What if I don’t know if I’d like Odyssey?” Did you like The Witcher 3? Do you want to play as a woman that would sleep with anyone? Then yes, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is for you. Your next question would be about buying it, of course, so I’m happy to say, while this snippet of DLC is free, Odyssey is heavily reduced on storefronts. Particularly on Uplay.

If you would like to buy the standard edition of Odyssey on the Microsoft store (for Xbox One), and The Fate of Atlantis DLC, the total comes to about $36.48. If you are buying the same game and DLC for PC on Uplay, you will be paying $40.19, or you could get the standard game and season pass (includes Legacy of the First Blade and other content) for $45.19. Arguably the best deal on an Assassin’s Creed game ever (other than Black Flag being free). This sale and deal ends September 1st.
