For the three people who haven’t seen Breaking Bad, you don’t know what good TV is. Who needs Game of Thrones, a short man, a woman with dragons, and a lot of sex? I find The Rock to be more relatable. Friends? What that show with five humans and the serial killer, no thank you. The Walking Dead? I don’t want to listen to twelve or so people shouting, I can wait for Thanksgiving for that. That’s my short way of saying, go watch all five seasons of this truly fantastic show that has the best ending to TV ever.
I say that because of Netflix and Vince Gilligan have teamed up for a Breaking Bad movie to follow the series. I guess Abed was wrong when he said, “Six seasons and a movie!” El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, is set to release on the streaming platform October 11th. However, what do we know about it so far? Nothing.
What happened to Jesse Pinkman?

The tweet above was sent out, the trailer was released on other social media platforms, and everyone has been a little hush-hush about details. So much so that Bob Odenkirk, who has played and is playing Saul Goodman/James Morgan McGill/Gene Taković, stated to The Hollywood Reporter that there’s a lot of secrecy surrounding the movie. He went on on to state earlier last week, “I don’t know what people know and don’t know. I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot.” Meanwhile, the Albuquerque Journal stated in 2018 that the codenamed project “Greenbrier” was indeed a Breaking Bad movie.
What we know from the trailer, news, and rumors surrounding the movie is that El Camino is the first in the three year deal between Gilligan and Sony. Sony has produced the movie along with Netflix; Aaron Paul will play his leading role as Jesse Pinkman, and Charles Baker will retain his role as Skinny Pete. The trailer features Baker as Pete talking to what we could assume as federal agents wanting to track down Jesse. It has been speculated that El Camino will release on Netflix then be shown on AMC. Though this, among other rumors, are nothing more than speculation at this point.
