Video games have been made for every activity. Do you want to go trucking in Europe? Euro Truck Simulator 2 is your man. Do you want to swear at food? Cook, Serve Delicious! 2!! is for you, as are several others. My point is, there’s only been one game series that is about the activity of “Winching,” which I’m also told is a term for relations with someone in some parts of the world, but there have been a few games about that.

This winching is in reference to putting a car in mud, having a winch on the front of your car, attaching yourself to the nearest solid object, and pulling yourself free. You can also attempt to drive out, but during actual competitions, it is only after this point that you should really start winching, as shown here (Warning: video features some swearing). It is fitting that the series I’m talking about is that of Spintires, the 2014 release about your tires spinning on a large vehicle. Well titled.

Yesterday during Gamescom, Focus Home Interactive revealed the third installment in the series, SnowRunner: A MudRunner Game. A sequel to 2017’s, “Spintires: MudRunner,” or as the logo states, “MudRunner: A Spintires Game.” With mad naming conventions aside, SnowRunner looks to be more of the heavy revving action of getting yourself stuck and then unstuck in some snow and mud.

Previously teased as MudRunner 2, SnowRunner, the series is looking to continue with Saber Interactive, however, with original Spintires developer Oovee Game Studios this time. SnowRunner is expected to release in 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. However, the PC release is an Epic Games store exclusive.
