Something I love about the Nintendo Switch is the ability to put games into sleep mode without losing progress. For that reason, I’m always keeping long game sessions going, even when I take a break. When you have 10 or 15 minutes to play in between other responsibilities, these are the best time killers on the Nintendo Switch!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Nothing beats hopping into Hyrule for 10 or 15 minutes. By keeping the game going in sleep mode, it’s easy to hop onto Breath of the Wild for a few minutes and explore. It’s not like you’ll have an easy time putting the game down, but it does make for an easy pick-up-and-play title. When not taking on a boss, you won’t feel as if you forgot what you’re doing when you come back to it. Furthermore, it’s a great game for collectibles and meandering around the open world. It’s about as perfect of a time killer as any game can get!

Super Mario Odyssey

I don’t think I’ll ever go a week without popping the Odyssey game card into my Switch. The ability to hop into worlds and find those tough to get stars kills 15 minutes easily. If you’re not careful, hunting for balloons or a difficult coin can make time disappear, so be sure to set a timer for this one! The best part of Odyssey is the depth of all the collectibles, and as you start to grind for those last remaining costumes and items, the game only gets more rewarding.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

The slow pace of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker makes a lot of people feel like the game isn’t for them. That’s a huge mistake, and you’re missing out on my favorite time killer title for the Nintendo Switch. The lighthearted puzzles and quick levels are great for shorter gaming sessions. It’s great to run through, plus, you can go back and replay levels with new things to do and find upon initial completion!

The Switch is great for on-the-go time killing, and these three titles take the cake for me! What’s your go-to time killer on the Switch, or any other console? Let us know in the comments!
