Mods are a wonderful thing, creating some of the weirdest and most wonderful parts of games. Some are fun and remove limits in RPGs so you can do as I always do; hoover up everything in everyone’s baskets, trunks, and even their blood-red pockets. Others switch up the game a little more, for example, in The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim you can download a mod that reworks the start of the game. If you are a Fallout 4 fan, you can download some mods, play two hours of the game, and have the game autosave every time you try to fix the game-breaking issue caused by them for a further two hours. I’m not bitter about that last one.
The point is, mods make the world go round, or at the very least turn your boring swords into lightsabers. This is why one of the most common series behind Bethesda’s often broken RPGs would be From Software’s Dark Souls series. Often these are skins for your armor or something simple like that. Heaven forbid annoying the hardcore dance mat players by making the game a little easier on those that can’t dance on the grave of Lord Bum Fluff the Second. However, I’ve been playing Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and several of the petulant little children that have been made from this series.
One game I’ve yet to play is From Software’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. I’ve been told that it is From Soft’s attempt at what Nioh was all about with the Edo period being the dead giveaway. However, I’ve also been told that it is perfection itself by those that can actually beat the game in a reasonable time, unlike me fumbling about in Dark Souls for the last several months. However, if you have trouble getting off with Sekiro behind the bins after killing everything in Japan, then you might just be in luck.
The aptly titled “Boss Rush” mod, allows you to stab all the bosses from any point in the game. This means you don’t have to play specific bosses to get to the final one, skip ones you find too hard to jump to another difficult boss, or even complete the game without doing all the busy monkey work on top of a pagoda. It really is the perfect balance for all, while players that have already completed the game might want to play one of the bosses again without the work of the others, other players that might be fearful of, let’s say the giant snake boss, can skip it.
You can pick up the Boss Rush mod here on Nexus Mods.
