The Nintendo Switch has been on the market for over two years now and recently we are seeing an abundance of ports like Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Assassin’s Creed III, Doom, and even Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. It is safe to say that porting to the Switch is not going to slow down anytime soon. So I have compiled my top five games I would love to see brought over to the hybrid console.

5. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

Tokyo Mirage Sessions is a turn-based JRPG that crosses over the Persona and Fire Emblem series. Released back in 2016 as a Wii U exclusive, Tokyo Mirage Sessions was instantly a cult classic among RPG fans with its stellar soundtrack, a fun Japanese Pop Idol story, and combat that melded that strategic elements of Fire Emblem and the signature style of the Persona. Tokyo Mirage Sessions was criminally underplayed and deserved a lot more love then its initial release received.

4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Zelda games have always been a fan favorite of the Nintendo crowd but, to be honest, I never really fell in love with the series. Though the release of The Wind Waker HD it defiantly gave me a better appreciation for the series and why people love it so dearly. The Wind Waker is a cute and enthralling adventure that takes Link across the high seas to rescue his sister, but he soon discovers he must defeat Ganon.

It may be a simple tale but with fantastic dungeon design and some wonderful boss encounters, Wind Waker is filled with the Zelda charm that fans know and love. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker would be an absolute treat to play on the go and introduce a new generation to an amazing adventure.

3. Bravely Default/Bravely Second

Before Octopath Traveller there was Bravely Default, a throwback to the days of grinding, farming, and constant character progression. Bravely Default, first released on the 3DS and the first game in the Bravely series, came out to critical and commercial success selling over one million copies. The second game, Bravely Second, was left to be forgotten by many, unfortunately.

Bravely Default and its sequel Bravely Second definitely deserve a second chance in the spotlight for their cute chibi art style, amazing soundtracks, well-designed job systems, gripping stories, and lovely character interactions that really make you fall in love with all four of the playable characters. The Bravely series deserves another chance at life and maybe even a third game.

2. No Man’s Sky

Yes, it’s no secret that No Man’s Sky is one of my favorite games of all time and I would absolutely launch myself at the opportunity to be able to play anywhere I go. Being able to explore the vast galaxy with its mysteries and isolating worlds on a plane, in a car, or simply on breaks at work, would be an amazing addition to my Switch library. With No Man’s Sky Beyond launching sometime this summer, I would love to start a new quest and continue to discover new creatures, worlds, and ships at home or on the go.

1. Mass Effect Trilogy

The Mass Effect Trilogy is a series that is very near and dear to me. I played every game around the same time as my sister, and after every play session, we would call and discuss every decision we made and what happened in our very different playthroughs.

Having an updated version of the first Mass Effect game would be welcomed, as my experience with this series was on the PlayStation 3 where the framerates would drop and the input lag was extremely hard to deal with at times. However, the amazing story combined with a world filled with such captivating lore and diverse and loveable characters made it enjoyable. Mass Effect Trilogy has nearly infinite replayability and would make it a perfect on the go RPG.

There are so many more games I would love to play on my Switch, but this is just my five most wanted list. I know some of these games will never see the light of day on the hybrid, but games like Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Wind Waker have a very real chance, and I would pick them up day one without hesitation or regret.
