After a recent interview with Japanese magazine Nikkei, Level-5 President Akihiro Hino revealed a new project already in the works at Level-5. For those who don’t know, Ni No Kuni is a series of role-playing video games published by Bandai Namco and developed by Level-5.

More specifically, the project Hino revealed is a third entry in the RPG series that will be the biggest entry yet. Hino noted it will release after the movie hits theatres in Japan on August 29th, which seems highly unlikely due to how close it is. Hino also noted that the game, combined with the new movie, is part of plans to make the franchise much bigger. Unfortunately, further details have not yet been revealed.

In addition to the new movie and a third game, Level-5 also has Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered coming to consoles. The Remastered version of the classic RPG will be coming to PS4 and PC in September, while Switch owners are just getting the original version.

As a fan, I can’t wait to see where the series goes from here. After the first title, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, a traditional JRPG beloved by fans on the PS3, there was Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. The most recent release in the series came last year, and while not as loved as the original, was a solid addition to the series as a whole.

Details are still unknown as to how the series will continue and if the next installment in the series will be a prequel or a continuation of the last game. We can only wait for more details.
