I’m sure we all remember the first year PC Gamer joined the catalog of shows we watch to find exciting games coming soon at E3. I’m also sure we all remember the agony that was getting through the slog of that first year. In more recent years, it has become much better. It was a very long and vapid show. However, this year Xbox wants to see if they have the endurance to last all night, or indeed, longer than they ever have.

According to a video by the Brazillian channel, XboxBR, we are to see our longest Xbox/Microsoft showcase ever. Last year alone we were promised a colossal fifty games to be showcased, as declared by Phil Spencer himself. As I’m sure I’ve said previously, I loved last year’s showcase, and months later I picked up an Xbox One S. It also seems, according to a recent leak, that this year’s showcase will be no different.

Editor’s Note: The video linked above is in Portuguese, so I embedded an English video for those who don’t speak Portuguese.

The leak proposed almost everything, from updates on Gears 5 and Halo Infinite to reboots of 2000s games. Gameplay for Age of Empires IV and Battletoads, along with the next/half-generation hardware update are also all expected to make an appearance. So how long does Xbox/Microsoft have to fill? Two hours, according to XboxBR. At first, one would think this is quite long and indeed it is, but this could very well be a bigger show. The aforementioned leak suggests twenty sections, including a piece about the xCloud they are working on with Sony.

With a two hour show, I don’t know how well Xbox/Microsoft can copy or improve on what they did last year. I’ve said it before, if they could keep up the pace, bring the gameplay/trailer ratio up, and cut the talking on stage to a minimum (whilst maintaining excitement about gaming), it would go a long way toward a more interesting show. With that showcase, they would have the best show hands down. Unless Aisha comes back to Ubisoft.

The Xbox/Microsoft showcase will take take place on June 9th this year, at 4 PM Eastern time, and will be held in the Microsoft Theater once again this year.
