A young girl wanders around a beautiful yet dying world, guns in hand and a ghostly cat tailing her. She seeks revenge in the midst of the ruins and in doing so, she may find what’s at the heart of the apocalypse.

ITTA is a game being developed by Glass Revolver, a dev team consisting of Jacob Williams and Kyle Lisenby. Starting off with the revolver of Itta’s dead father, you set out into a larger, depressing world where friendly faces are few in number. Typical bullet hell games are either straight shooter games or hybrids with roguelikes, but ITTA brings the joy of intricate bullet patterns into an adventure game. In ITTA, you wander around a big map where you can discover new weapons from the corpses of the fallen, nightmarish bosses and the occasional friendly face.

What drew me to the game were some of the in-development GIFs that the developer frequently retweets, showing off the game’s detailed animations. What particularly sucked me in were the GIFs portraying a battle against somebody that looked inspired by Mob Psycho 100. A young boy just goes nuts, doing well-animated jumps toward the screens and slamming back down, spreading fire and bullets. He is but one of the many boss characters in ITTA, which includes a kingly knight, a giant skull that shoots bone shaped projectiles and a girl really good at swinging a spiked club.

The intense bullet patterns and ruin contrasts with the game’s environmental design, which is vibrant and detailed. The ITTA Twitter shows off a lot of gorgeous grasslands and deserts mixed in with the violence and decay, establishing one of those apocalyptic worlds where nature takes over as sentient life dies off.

ITTA is planned to be released sometime in 2019. Updates of flashy and gorgeous GIFs can be found on the official Twitter and the game can be wishlisted on Steam.
