A listing for what appears to be the next Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon game leaked through earlier this week on Ubisoft’s online store. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is the name of the game; with an image of a Wolves Collector’s Edition being released to unveil its contents. Currently, Ubisoft has decided to release an official announcement trailer featuring more details for fans to see, but also the confirmation of its October 4, 2019 release date for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is set on the archipelago of Auroa; a fictional location in the Pacific Ocean, with the islands being a private compound owned by Jace Skell the CEO of Skell Technology. Skell is a company specializing in drones and artificial intelligence. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is a followup to Wildlands, and just like Wildlands, it will allow for full 4-player co-op with a stealth-action based system included in its’ open world setting.
The title will feature new different content such as all new dialogue choices, new survival elements, an extensive class system, multiple endings, and more. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will have multiple endings in order to give an additional bit of replay value to the title.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will feature raids, which is a first for the tactical shooter IP. There will also be a more advanced injury and medical system as well as a mid-mission camping system allowing you to switch out classes; with more high-tech gadgets and guns to get our hands on. Additionally, there will be a more advanced camouflage system, allowing you to blend in with the environment and terrain. The villain this time round is none other than Cole Walker, a Ghost team leader gone rogue, played by Jon Bernthal; who also appears in the latest DLC chapter of Wildlands. So he is well known at this point to fans.
As a Ghost Recon fan, I can’t wait to see how Ubisoft implements all these new features including the multiple ending and raid system. Plus it seems Ubisoft is confident in its abilities to succeed. As it already has post release DLC plans and a of course a season pass so it’s sure to be supported for a while. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is scheduled to launch on October 4, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
