A few days ago, Square Enix released free DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3 that added the classic critical difficulty mode, and according to spectator YanilynGaming who was attending the Kingdom Hearts concert in Tokyo, Tetsuya Nomura has announced a paid DLC pack for Kingdom Hearts 3 called ReMind.

This DLC pack will supposedly include:

  • Additional Scenario ReMind
  • Limit Episode and a boss
  • A new Secret Episode and a boss
  • English Voice acting for the Japanese version of the game

Among the supposed reveal there was also mention of free DLC that would include a new form and a new Keyblade for Sora. Yanilyn also stated that more information would be coming in June, during which Square Enix’s E3 press conference will be held. Not much information has been revealed since YanilynGaming’s tweet but I have reached out to Square Enix for confirmation and have yet to receive a response at the time of writing.

Paid and free DLC was announced for Kingdom Hearts 3 back in February by Dengeki PlayStation as game director Tetsuya Nomura stated “We do want to have something to add to your enjoyment of Kingdom Hearts 3, so maybe you could continue to play a little longer than release, but we haven’t really thought of anything in detail yet,” This wouldn’t surprise for Square Enix due to there treatment of Final Fantasy XV and more recently of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. DLC has been a long time practice for Square, and that has been a long time mission for them.

Kingdom Hearts 3 was released back on January 25th, 2019 to commercial success, shipping over 5 million copies both digitally and physical making it the fastest selling game in the franchise history. Kingdom Hearts 3 received praise at launch and holds a Metacritic average of 83% citrate score and a 7.8 user score, which falls in line with our review of Kingdom Hearts 3.
