Over the last week, we had been working on a couple of Attack on Titan articles for the site. One article covered the upcoming complete edition of Attack on Titan 2 called, “Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle.” However, while doing research for that article and for the pending review we are doing for Attack on Titan 2, we found an, at the time, upcoming release. Our first port of call upon seeing this was to tell our PR contact working with KOEI TECMO. This upcoming release was called Attack on Titan The Game, a fan-made game that was set to release on May 31st as a free-to-play title.

Our PR contact could not comment on the release of this game or if it was apart of promotion from Kodansha or KOEI TECMO. A site for game key requests for YouTubers and general reviewers is where we first found this game listed for its May release and possible key requests. On this site, there is also a claim by the developer, JRM Studios, that “Attack on Titan The Game was commissioned by our client Kodansha. They have given us permission to submit their app,” (As shown above). This comment was not echoed anywhere publicly, and it wasn’t a good sign when the PR contact wouldn’t comment.

However, we moved on with our research and attempted to contact JRM Studios ourselves. We did this earlier this week hoping to hear back by Wednesday, and we didn’t hear anything. With part of the article written and an assumption that the game would release in a months time. This it turns out would not be the case. Instead, yesterday upon doing research before finalizing the article we had mostly written we’d found the game’s Steam page to have changed and it was revealed that the game was now released.

We assume JRM Studios wouldn’t like to speak about this instance, and our PR contact is unable to speak on the matter. We can’t say why the game previously known to be Attack on Titan The Game was changed to Titan Attack The Game. We also don’t have an answer to why the sudden change happened this week other than our inquiries on the matter. However, Titan Attack The Game or Attack on Titan The Game has released into early access as an endless runner for $4.99.
