This weekend I’ve been playing a bit of Attack on Titan 2 and watching several episodes of the anime in the process. To my own surprise, I may have found the fourth anime I can tolerate, albeit between giving myself a moment to live in a world that goes quicker than a turtle on the Monico circuit while an F1 car is on its flying lap. Though it might be getting better sooner than I thought.

Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is the complete edition of the game, Attack on Titan 2. Much like Dark Souls does with it’s Prepare to Die, Scholar of The First Sin, and The Fire Fades editions, this will include all the DLC released previously into one neat package. This will aid you upon your first playthrough as you’ll be given several pieces of gear to aid you along your way. Well, not you, in particular, your character, your cadet if you will, also known as “original character do not steal the third“. However, you’ll also get some new gear, as there is a new ranged attack with the ‘shooting gear‘ coming with Final Battle.

The ‘anti-personnel omni-directional movement gun action’ video (above) shows a difference in battle compared to the standard fighting in Attack on Titan 2. This gameplay (speculatively, of course) looks a lot more like Devil May Cry than Attack on Titan 2, or at least how I’ve been playing. Though that doesn’t say this new mechanic is bad, in fact, the opposite might be true as it would lead the combat to be quicker and a little more hack-and-slash than the strategical hack-and-slash it is.

If you are an Attack on Titan fan or indeed someone like myself who was curious about the series, you’ll most likely enjoy Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle. The Final Battle package is not exclusively to those buying the entire game for the first time or again. If you already own Attack on Titan 2 on your preferred platform you’ll also be able to join in as you upgrade your game with the Final Battle upgrade pack. Furthermore, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle will release in North America and Europe on July 5th, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
